Repetition works as some sort of safety net for
me. It has a strong relationship to sports and the idea
of practice. Like as in skateboarding- practice a trick over and over again.
It is only till you have a sufficient understanding and control over it, that then you can add a twist or bring something new to the table. It really is like painting/drawing.
Growth seems to happen without you even being
aware of its presence.
If I am working on a piece and I get to a place of
not being aware of myself, then I am truly
invested.
